Model and expand: Model error speech sounds for your students frequently throughout the school day and during daily routines. Model correct production of the error sound with extra emphasis and expand the child’s thoughts with additional words that contain the error sound; also giving extra emphasis. For example if a particular student is showing errors on the K sound:
Child: “I have a tat (cat) at home.”
Teacher or parent: “Oh you have a Cat?!” “I bet it is Cute!”, “Does he like to Cuddle with you?”
